Booking a mock discussion

Mock discussions are booked the same way as exams, with two differences: they are offered per discussion type, and they can carry prerequisites.

Discussion types

Each active discussion type has its own dashboard card and its own list:

  • Situational Judgment Discussion
  • Clinical Skills Discussion

You may also encounter an older, general Mock Discussion type on historic bookings. It is being phased out and is no longer offered for new bookings — existing bookings against it remain valid.

Prerequisites — the usual reason a session is missing

A discussion session can require that you have already booked or attended a specific earlier exam. If a prerequisite is not met, that session does not appear in your list.

So if a discussion you were expecting is not there, work through this in order:

  1. Is there a prerequisite exam you have not booked or attended yet? Most likely cause.
  2. Is the session full?
  3. Is the session not yet open for booking?
  4. Is it offered at a location available to you?

If none of those explain it, contact an administrator — they can see the session's prerequisites directly.

Credits

Discussion sessions spend a mock_discussion_token, falling back to shared_mock_credits if you have none. See Credits & tokens.

Cancelling

Same as exams: cancel an Active booking and the token is returned. There is no separate reschedule action — cancel, then rebook.
