Credits & tokens
Booking a session spends a credit. Which credit is spent depends on the session type, and there is a fallback rule that surprises people. This page is the reference for both.
The credit types
| Credit | Spent by |
|---|---|
sj_credits | Situational Judgment mock exams |
cs_credits | Clinical Skills mock exams |
sjmini_credits | Mini-mock exams |
mock_discussion_token | Mock discussion sessions |
shared_mock_credits | Any of the above — the fallback |
The rule: specific first, shared second
When you book, the system looks for the specific credit for that session type. If you
have none, it falls back to shared_mock_credits.
So booking a Clinical Skills exam spends a cs_credits if you have one, and a
shared_mock_credits if you do not.
This is the single most common credit question. If you had shared credits and they decreased after booking a specific exam type, it is because your specific balance for that type was already zero. That is the fallback working as designed, not an error.
Where to see your balance
Your balances appear on your dashboard in the student portal. Admins can see and adjust any student's balances from Trainees Dashboard → Trainee Lookup.
Cancelling and refunds
Cancelling an active booking restores the credit that was spent on it.
There is no time-based cancellation deadline in the system: a booking can be cancelled
while it is still Active. What you cannot do is cancel a booking that is already
Cancelled or Completed — that returns an error rather than double-refunding.
See Booking statuses for what each status means.
If your balance looks wrong
Admins adjust credits directly, and adjustments take effect immediately.
One thing worth knowing if you are an admin comparing systems: credit balances shown in the booking system are authoritative. Token values on the CRM contact record are no longer updated by admin actions and will drift. Do not reconcile against the CRM — reconcile against the booking system.
